Here is a picture of a Chaos Space Marine from a traitor chapter known as Flaming Valkyries. It is created with the help of :iconbasilisk618: and the Space Marine and Terminator Painter from the website: [link] I love the colours and the design of the Space Marine, and it looks so intimidating and awesome. :D :D I am currently working on the Knights of Terra's Official Fact Sheet, Chapter Legion Profile, Characters and Stories. So please look forward to them, especially if you are a Warhammer 40K fan. :wow: :wow:

[[Excerpt from Wikipedia]]

Training of a Space Marine:

The training of a Space Marine is described within game literature in great detail. A Space Marine is a vastly superior warrior when compared to a normal human. This is due to a series of biological enhancements, psychological conditioning, and heavy training. The end result of creating a Space Marine produces a soldier with abilities that are so superior to those of an average human that they are best described as superhuman.

Once the recruit passes a battery of tests and challenges set by the Chapter, and the initial gene-seed implants have taken hold on his body, he is accepted into the Chapter as a Neophyte. These Neophytes will be trained in the history of the Chapter and the edicts of the Codex Astartes, while the remaining implants and modifications are made to his body.

Once a Scout begins his training and genetic modification, he is no longer permitted contact with his home or family, sworn to serve the Emperor and the Chapter until his death. The Scouts form the Tenth Company of a Chapter. The creation of a Space Marine is a dangerous process, and it is accepted that many will die during their indoctrination.

Once the Neophyte's/Scout's period of training is complete, the Neophyte will often be sent on a final challenge to prove his worth. Upon the completion of this challenge, the Neophyte will become a full member of the Chapter, and will be assigned to one of the eight Battle or Reserve companies (or Chapter equivalent).

The new "battle-brother" is presented with a boltgun and a suit of power armour, the maintenance of which is his responsibility. A newly promoted Marine is assigned to one of the chapters devastator squads as a bolter marine, to provide close support for the more battle hardened marines carrying the heavy weapons. As he gains experience and proves himself he will be allowed to carry the heavy guns himself. After exemplary service in a devastator squad a marine will be assigned to an assault squad, and from there he will be assigned to a Tactical Squad. This insures that the Tactical squads, which form the back bone off the chapter, can excel at any task.

A Tactical Marine is a Space Marine that is more equipped to fight using a variety of ranged weapons. Like their Assault Marine counterparts, the squads can be numerous and tough as nails. They usually come equpped with bolters and combat knives. However, they tend to specialize in other weapons, such as flamers, plasma rifles, rocket launchers and heavy bolters. They also tend to come equipped with frag grenades, which they use well against infantry. As with the Assault Marine squads, they can usually be found led by a Veteran Sergeant. The Chaos Space Marines also use Tactical Marines, though they have smaller access to weapons, are more vicious up close and are lead usually by aspiring champions.

Chaos Fluff start here:

History:

The background shown in both Codex: Space Marines (Haines and McNeill, 2004) and Codex: Chaos Space Marines (Chambers et al, 2002) states that the Chaos Marine Legions were nine of the twenty original "First Founding" Legions of Space Marines who fought in the Great Crusade for the Imperium of Man. At this time Horus, Warmaster of the Imperial forces and Primarch of the Luna Wolves Legion (which was renamed the Sons of Horus in his honour), was corrupted by Chaos and instigated the galaxy-wide civil war known as the Horus Heresy.

After the death of Horus and the end of the Heresy, the remnants of the nine Legions along with the other Imperial forces that had joined Horus escaped into an area of the galaxy known as the Eye of Terror. Due to the nature of Chaos, and the temporal instability of the Warp, the very same Chaos Marines who revolted against the Emperor continue to fight against the Imperium.

The Legions have kept their old names, with the exception of the Sons of Horus who were renamed the Black Legion by their new leader, Abaddon the Despoiler. Besides Horus, two other Chaos Primarchs were killed during or shortly after the Heresy (those of the Alpha Legion and Night Lords). The six surviving Primarchs have since become Daemon Princes. These daemonic Primarchs rarely take part in the affairs of their Legions or any part of the Warhammer 40,000 universe. Some of the Legions have pledged a particular loyalty to one of the four Great Chaos powers. The closest thing to a leader that has appeared among them is Abaddon the Despoiler. Abaddon is the only Chaos Marine since Horus to be able to command the loyalty of all nine Traitor Legions, and has led thirteen Black Crusades against the Imperium of Man.

Differences between Chaos Space Marines and Space Marines:
The Chaos Space Marines have the same origins as the Space Marines, thus have the same physical power. Due to their allegiance to Chaos, veteran Chaos Marines can be mutated, thus making them physically stronger, faster or otherwise superior. Chaos Marines are also virtually immortal, whereby their millennia of experience afford them levels of mastery with advanced battlefield skills and tactics that younger Space Marines may not yet have.

They are equipped with the power armour and weapons they had when they initially betrayed the Imperium, which are broadly the same as those used by Space Marines (although differences now exist with jump packs etc). The current setting of the Warhammer 40,000 game is about 10,000 years after the Horus Heresy, and, while the Imperium has made some minuscule technological advancements, Chaos Marines have far more limited access to the handful of new inventions that have appeared on the galactic scene. In general, anything developed since the Heresy is unavailable to them unless it has been captured; for example, Iron Warriors are known for capturing and using Imperial tanks. While Chaos Space Marines have only older technology, they compensate for this by having access to daemons and daemonic technology.

Because the Chaos Space Marines have all traded their souls to Chaos, they are extremely fearful of death. The Chaos Gods do not truly care for them, and will gladly see them tortured for all eternity for their own pleasure. Worshippers of Khorne are cursed to feel eternal rage, children of Nurgle will be forever consumed by despair, those who choose Slaanesh as their god will be tortured until the end of time, and servants of Tzeentch will find insanity as their souls undergo a constant change in form. In theory, those who choose to serve Chaos Undivided are either shared or fought over by the gods in the afterlife. Only the promise of eternal life as a daemon prince reassures the servants of Chaos. This fear of death, however, does nothing to slow or halt the vicious might of the Chaos Space Marine armies.
