The Expansion Wars Timeline

Important note: What follows is archived records taken from declassified files from the Seraphim Archives (and recovered Decepticon Datatracks) regarding the Expansion wars. Due to the fact that countless engagements have been fought during The Expansion Wars between the Decepticons and the Seraphims during this period of time, only the major conflicts were listed here, along with a few important missions that contributed to the main conflict. As many classified missions still remain sealed by order of the Seraphim High Council, this timeline is by no means complete, and such an instance would be the period in the Expansion Wars known as "The Shadow War".

However, what follows is the most comprehensive timeline of the Expansion Wars to date.

[Somewhere between 4 – 3.7 Million Years before EOE] – Resources for the Decepticon war machine begin to run low. A certain starship resource, Unobtainium, is in extremely short supply and hence Megatron plotted to invade the Seraphim Empire to get the Unobtainium resources he needs to continue the war effort against the Autobots.

Megatron presented an expansion policy to many races across the galaxy: Comply or be completely exterminated. Those races who complied were spared from death and ruled by the Decepticons under an iron fist. Others resisted, but were completely crushed by Megatron’s massive Decepticon Army. The Seraphim Empire, after receiving the ultimatum, returned a damning answer within a single solar cycle, and formally declares war.

“In regards to the Decepticon’s ultimatum of surrendering all of our available resources and military forces, as well as subjugation to Megatron’s rule under the Decepticon Empire, the Seraphim Empire announces its intent to reject the ultimatum and will take up arms to defend its sovereign Empire with any means necessary. The demands are unreasonable and preposterous, and the conquering of other races through military might is unacceptable. In short, the reply we gave was a short and simple sentence: We will not comply, and GO BURN THE PIT. (to use a cybertronian term)”

– Unknown Seraphim Diplomat speaking on terms of anonymity on Megatron’s Ultimatum, 4 Million years before EOE, before the Expansion Wars

Divine was reinstated back in the Seraphim Elite Guard and was given an Elite Commando Team to command. Many Seraphim Elite Guards and military commanders of various clans were also recalled from many peacekeeping fronts to prepare themselves for eventual war with the Decepticons.

Stellar Units later, the Decepticons officially announces mobilization orders for all available forces in the neighbouring systems to return to the mobile space fortress Fist of War. The Decepticon Army was split into four parts: The Space Fleet, the Mobile Assault Force, the Heavy Assault Force, and Special Operations.

The Seraphims, anticipating brutal spaceship combat and capture of worlds in their domain, began to restructure their space fleets to protect important planets among their Empire, as well as issuing a major alert to all of their military forces, recalling all available space fleets back to the Sanctuary, a stealth space station located in deep space.

[3.7 Million Years before EOE] – The beginning of the Expansion Wars. Decepticons massed several fleets for a full scale invasion of the Seraphim Empire.

Megatron managed to capture two Seraphims and subjected them to torture by Shockwave. An Autobot Commando force (led by Optimus Prime) managed to rescue the two Seraphims and escape in a captured Decepticon cruiser, which was pursued by several other Decepticon spacecrafts. Only the timely intervention of the Seraphim 12th Fleet saved the Autobot Commando force and the two captured Seraphims. However, Shockwave has gotten what he wanted from the Seraphims and apparently perfected a biological weapon.

Opening Skirmishes between Seraphims and Decepticons were detected near the borders of the Seraphim Empire. Among the first contested worlds fought on are Deyu and Yugos, which are key planets for the Decepticons to take should they want to establish a foothold in the Seraphim Outer Colonies.

[Somewhere between 3.7 – 3.5 Million Years before EOE] – Invasion of the Seraphim Outer Colonies begins. Many Outer Colonies were evacuated of civilians when significant Decepticon Activity has been detected according to the Ragnorok Protocol.

Decepticon Team Charr, under the orders of Megatron, attacked a Seraphim Outer Colony named Harvest, using Shockwave’s biological weapon. Despite the fierce battle, the biological weapon was dropped and Harvest became a Death World with Cycles. Fortunately, approximately 95.8% of the population had been evacuated prior to the Battle of Harvest. However, the Seraphim fleet managed to score a victory by crippling the Decepticon Warship Twilight in space after a costly battle.

[3.5 Million Years before EOE] – The Battle of Prime World Rexus. The Fire Clan and the Sun Clan managed to drive back the Decepticon Heavy Brigade after a massive clash at Typhus Gate. However, the Seraphim’s 85th Fleet was nearly wiped out in the space battle with the Decepticon assault fleet commanded by Razorclaw and Starscream.

Many of Gold Team’s members earned their medals that Stellar Unit. Divine earned his Silver Heart Medal by single-handedly repelling and destroying a Decepticon advance strike force from reaching the planet itself, sinking approximately twenty Decepticon Strike Cruisers with his dual-barreled Pulse Railgun Cannons.

[3.4 Million Years before EOE] – The Siege of Tyran IX. The Decepticons led a Stellar Units-long siege on the resource-rich world of Tyran IX. The Siege only ended when the defenders managed to bury the majority of the Decepticon forces under a ravine near the Capital City of Tyran, and the arrival of the Seraphim’s 145th Fleet reinforced the remnants of Tyran’s Planetary Forces by breaking through the blockade by Decepticon ships orbiting the planet.

[3.3 Million Years before EOE] – The Battle of Chyene X. The Decepticons scored their first major victory under the command of Onslaught of the Combaticons at the Battle at Hell’s Gate. Knowing that the planet is lost to Decepticon rule, the Seraphims deployed extreme measures to deny the Decepticons their prize…by firing salvos of cyclone torpedoes into the Decepticon controlled areas of the planet, wiping out several divisions of Eradicons before fleeing the system, closely pursued by many Decepticon spaceships.

The Decepticons, spurred by this victory, destroyed several Outer Colonies and craved deep into the Seraphim Empire. The Seraphims managed to gain isolated victories in many battles fought on hundreds of fronts, and making strategic withdrawals to prevent any unnecessary deaths.

Meanwhile, Autobot Resistance Forces under the command of Xaaron were waging guerilla warfare on Cybertron against Shockwave and his Decepticon Army, but were met with little success due to the lack of resources and troops.

[3.2 Million Years before EOE] – The Re-taking of Prime World Cavos. Megatron managed to seize control of Prime World Cavos due to the usage of Dark Energon influence on his troops. Only with the help of the Autobots and the Dark Energon Neutralisers of Wheeljack’s design did the Seraphims retake that Prime World during the planet-wide operation.

The Shockblitzers, one of Megatron’s elite strike teams, clashed with Gold Team of the Seraphim Elite Guards at the Battle for Yulos. The titanic battle nearly destroyed the entire capital of the planet, and only ended with the wounding of several members from both sides. Divine managed to heavily damage the Decepticon Commander known as Warlord, although he suffered severe wounds in return.

[3.1 Million Years before EOE] – The Battle of Pelgasi Omega. The Fire Clan sent its elite commando teams, known the “Firedrakes”, to infiltrate and plant explosives within the colossal asteroid known as G67X, which was orbiting several light units near the Prime World of Pelgasi Omega, recently discovered to be a mobile Decepticon shipyard. The operation was successful, and approximately three thousand Decepticon spacecraft were completely annihilated in the reactor meltdown in the asteroid shipyard’s main power core.

[3.0 Million Years before EOE] – The Battle of Delta VII. The Seacons led a massive Decepticon Strike Team to seize the Water Clan’s Prime world, but were repelled and pushed off world after a 100 Stellar-Unit long battle. Various space skirmishes were fought within the Delta System’s various planets, and countless more Stellar-Units were consumed in more battles until the Decepticons retreated from the system.

[2.9 Million Years before EOE] – The Battle of Vargus. Team Charr and The Decepticon Heavy Brigade invaded the world of Vargus through a sneak attack, and conquered the world moments within planetfall. This marked the first sightings of Trypticon and Combiner Gesalts by Seraphim Military Forces when the Decepticons invaded the capital cities of Vargus. Due to the devastating and overwhelming Decepticon forces, the Seraphims rapidly evacuated and abandoned that world soon after.

[2.8 Million Years before EOE] – The Battle of the Damos Space Sector. The Decepticons conquered several systems over the course of several Stellar Units within that space sector. The Autobot-Seraphim Alliance launched a major operation after cracking the coded Decepticon communiqués, which led to a massive planet hopping campaign until it concluded with the all-out assault on the Decepticon-captured planet of Vus. In the ensuing battle, the Decepticon fleet near Vus was completely destroyed while several other fleets were crippled in the operation, thus earning a brief respite for the Seraphim Empire.

[2.7 Million Years before EOE] – The Battle of Tuyos V. Gold Team, led by Divine, caused chaos within the Decepticon fleets in that sector by sabotaging a major space refueling station for a Decepticon fleet standing by in that sector. The resulting explosion tore apart the heart of the Decepticon fleet, leaving less than a dozen space cruisers intact. After a brief confrontation with Starscream and Cyclonus, Divine and his team escaped in a Prowler-class Seraphim spacecraft.

[2.6 Million Years before EOE] – The Battle of Septius. Megatron deployed several space fleets with Gigatron to conquer the worlds in the Septius Space Sector under the name of Decepticons. Despite the fierce resistance by the Seraphims, many worlds still fell after Stellar Units of brutal warfare. Seraphim Admiral Velos died when his Space Carrier was destroyed by the rebuilt Decepticon warship Thantos while covering his Space Fleet’s retreat from the system. Gigatron soon made short work of the remaining Seraphim worlds, and Septius fell completely to the Decepticons.

Over the next few hundred stellar units, The Seraphims launched many attempts to retake the Septius system, but failed due to the sheer amount of Decepticon forces in the system.

[2.5 Million Years before EOE] – Operation: Capture The Sun was set in motion. The Seraphim High Council approved a strike force to attack a Decepticon fleet and capture a high priority target known as Sunstorm. Sunstorm proved very hard to capture and hence Gold Team was selected for the task. After much difficulty and a huge battle, with the both Seraphims and Decepticons suffering losses, Divine managed to capture Sunstorm by unleashing his final form and subdue the rampaging Decepticon to be brought back for study and interrogation.

Divine was commended for his role in the capture of Sunstorm, and Gold Team was assigned to even more dangerous missions reserved for the special Elite Guard teams. Divine met Alpha Trion when his path took him to the hangar of the Ark, and the two had a spark to seed ember talk about the war and the Cybertronians.

Megatron contacted the Seraphims and threatened to use biological weapons on the Outer Colonies if they do not return Sunstorm within two planetary rotations. Secretly making a copy of Sunstorm’s core processor, the Seraphims strapped Sunstorm to a deep-space missile and launched him back towards Cybertron, despite protests from the more hard-lined departments of the Seraphim Military.

The Decepticon War Machine was slowed, but not halted completely, and desperate times call for desperate measures. More Seraphim Special Forces Teams were created, and sent on countless disruptive missions to try and permanently stop the Decepticon’s advance to the Inner Colonies and most importantly, Sera Prime.

[2.4 Million Years before EOE] – The First Sphere Wars. Using the Decepticon military secrets and codes gleamed from Sunstorm’s processor; the Seraphims launched a major military offensive on the Decepticon-controlled Outer Colonies. Caught completely by surprise and unprepared for the assault, the Decepticons suffered heavy losses and over several thousand spacecrafts were destroyed throughout their shipyards in the Outer Colonies. For the remainder of this time, the Decepticons fought minor skirmishes with the Seraphims as they try to consolidate their hold on key planets in the Outer Colonies, resulting in the Second and Third Sphere Wars.

[2.3 Million Years before EOE] – The Odessa Incident. The Unobtainium-rich world of Odessa came under attack from Razorclaw’s Space Fleets, reinforced by Onslaught’s ground forces. While the Spirit of Hyperion under Captain Spirit engaged the Thanatos, Divine and many Strike Teams defended the mining city of Odessa. After several hit-and-run attacks throughout the Outer Cities, repelling the Decepticon Army three times as they tried to assault the walls, and even sustaining a full scale assault through the mountain passes, it culminated into a battle at Odessa City’s walls when the combiner Bruticus finally broke through.

Although Bruticus finally fell under a colossal counterattack by the Seraphim Elite Guard’s Mobile Suits, the Decepticons still managed to capture a substantial amount of shipments of resources (excluding Unobtainium) before escaping.

[2.2 Million Years before EOE] – The Vakos Colony-Drop Operation. The Decepticons seized control of the colony Messiah orbiting the main Outer Colony named Vakos. Despite the enormous space battle that followed, the Seraphims were unable to stop the colony from falling out of orbit and crashing into the planet, devastating several continents and severely changing the weather conditions of Vakos. The planet’s atmosphere was almost completely destroyed, and the conditions soon became inhabitable among the surrounding regions of the colony’s impact.

The Decepticons tried to recreate the Vakos colony-drop on many other worlds in the subsequent Stellar Units, but abandoned those plans when many failed attempts due to the response of the Seraphim Military forces and the efforts of Gold Team under Divine.

[2.1 Million Years before EOE] – Operation: Whispering Stars was set in motion. Little was known about this Operation due to its classified nature, but it resulted in the withdrawal of several Decepticon fleets after several unspecified battles in the Kuos System.

Operation: Deathbringer

During this period, a Seraphim-Autobot Joint Strike Team intercepted a massive cloaked Decepticon Warship known as the Deathbringer led by Banzai-Tron and his Decepticon Secret Service. After learning about the Warship’s motive to use biological weapons on several Seraphim worlds, the Strike Team managed to cripple the Warship permanently by crashing it into a nearby gravity well. However, Banzai-Tron escaped at the last nano-unit to evade capture, and the Strike Team’s fleet was all but annihilated, with only a stealth ship able to rush back to Sera Prime to deliver the news.

[2.0 Million Years before EOE] – The Raid on the Fleet of Glorious Deception and Solace. Divine and Gold Team led an assault to retrieve Rear Admiral Vax’s stasis pod from the Decepticons fleet after receiving word that she has been captured in the Battle for Typus System a few Stellar Units earlier. The Seraphim Elite Commando Team managed to fight through the Decepticon ship, grab the stasis pod and evacuate before the Seraphim Fleet was forced to leave the system due to the overwhelming firepower of the Decepticon Nemesis-class Strike Cruisers.

[1.9 Million Years before EOE] – An incident at Planet Padus infected many Autobot teams with Cosmic Rust, which was later to be revealed as a plan by Oil Slick to destroy the Autobots and weaken their military forces. At the same time, the Decepticons launched an assault on the Korule Space Sector. Field medic Ratchet, with the help of Jetfire, managed to synthesize an antidote for the infection after Ratchet had an unspecified run-in with Oil Slick, stealing his cure.

In the battle for Longinus Gate, the cure was used to great effect when the Decepticons tried to use the Cosmic Rust weapons on Autobots, only to be given a dose of their own medicine in return. Mirage managed to snipe the Decepticon convoy carrying the Cosmic Rust payload, and the Decepticons retreated after several hundred thousand of their Eradicons and Vehicons were infected by Cosmic Rust, and hence lost the crucial battle.

[1.8 Million Years before EOE] – The Shockblitzers were given a fleet and ordered to destroy a Seraphim orbital medical facility near Planet Pargon. Gold Team clashed with them again after a Seraphim Strike Force was deployed to reinforce the medical facility. Eventually, the Seraphims evacuated the medical facility and initiated self-destruct to prevent the Decepticons from getting the Navigation Database of the facility to find more Seraphim worlds.

However, the Decepticon Intelligence agent known as Discord managed to siphon off a few locations before escaping, and hence led to the Seraphims deploying divisions of their military to reinforce the compromised Seraphim worlds.

[1.7 Million Years before EOE] – The Decepticon Heavy Brigade, under orders from Megatron, began a bombing campaign of several Seraphim worlds in order to force the Seraphims into surrender…until the Spirit of Hyperion Strike Force were deployed to counter them. Several teams of the Elite Guards from various clans banded together with the Wreckers and the Harbingers to launch an assault on the Decepticon Heavy Brigade’s fleet. The massive battle was waged near the planet of Xous, before onto the planet itself. Almost all of the Decepticon Heavy Brigade met their match in this battle at the hands of the Seraphim Elite Guards, with Blackout being the only survivor after he was evacuated by Team Charr.

[1.6 Million Years before EOE] – The Decepticons managed to sneak a tracking beacon on one of the Seraphim spaceships, and discovered the space shipyards of the Seraphims near the world of Vagis. This led to a massive battle when the Decepticons launched a full scale invasion to cripple the secondary military headquarters and shipyards of the Seraphims. After the titanic Battles of Vieros and of Anvil Square, the Seraphims managed to push the Decepticon Invasion Forces off world, but lost several fleets and thousands of military equipment in the process.

Gold Team was distinguished by their effort by launching an operation with several other Seraphim Elite Guard Forces in assaulting and crippling the Decepticon Cruiser Thanatos in the Battle for Guos Gorge during the Invasion of Vagis.

[1.5 Million Years before EOE] – The Decepticon war machine continued to invade the inner sectors of the Seraphim Empire. With their new Nemesis-class battlecruisers, the Decepticons carved a bloody swathe through the Outer Colonies and pursued a merciless onslaught towards Sera Prime, despite fierce Seraphim and Autobot resistance.

Multiple Seraphim Prime Worlds fell, including Crysis, due to Gigatron and Trypticon’s influence in the Battles for Planets Gahos and Huxos. Emergency contingency plans were enacted by Seraphim space fleets around the universe to reinforce Sera Prime.

[1.4 Million Years before EOE] – The Battle of Algious Pass. Three hundred thousand Seraphims from various Elemental Clans held the line against the invading Decepticon forces that mounted to hundreds of thousands of troops. While the Seraphim Army faced off with the ground forces, the Seraphim Aerospace Divisions fought in the skies of Algious, and another naval fleet prevented Tidal Wave from joining or reinforcing the battle. The Conflict ended when the Decepticons worn themselves out from the battle of attrition, and retreated to their space cruisers to get off world.

[1.3 Million Years before EOE] – The Battle of Orion VII. Megatron deployed Squadron X and the Mayhem Attack Squad, along with a huge Decepticon fleet to capture Planet Orion and the surrounding systems. The Decepticon Fleet clashed with the Seraphim 3rd Fleet after they emerged from Transwarp space. The Wreckers engaged Squadron X, while the Mayhem Attack Squad took on the Harbingers in the ensuing battle. After several battles, the wake of the conflicts left the systems’ various planets in the form of near-death worlds. It took several more Mega-Units to drive the remnants of the Decepticons out of the contested systems.

[1.2 Million Years before EOE] – The Battle of Omega XII. The Decepticons launched a massive invasion on the Omega Space sector through a series of combat drop operations. Through the aforementioned operations, they managed to capture several important key planets and resource-rich locations in the Omega Space sector before the Seraphims-Autobot Alliance Fleets could respond and counterattack.

Stellar-Units later, the Seraphims-Autobot Alliance launched the Omega Campaign, which was a massive system-wide operation to retake the heavily fortified Omega System. The Operation serves two objectives: One, to retake the main planet of Omega Prime and Two, to launch a secret attack on the Decepticon Space Fortress Redoubtable to destroy or permanently disable it while the bulk of the Decepticons’ forces focus their forces on the defense of the aforementioned key planet.

The counteroffensive started immediately when the Seraphim-Autobot allied forces entered the system, and launched thousands of drop pods over the atmospheres of many planets. The Decepticons, although prepared, fought against the allied armies but ultimately succumbed to the superior firepower and sheer numbers. Over the next few hundred Mega-Units, dozens of conflicts were fought on multiple fronts on those worlds and above it. After waves of Blitzkrieg attacks, Seraphim forces broke through the final defense line of the Decepticons on Omega Prime, but suffering serious causalities in the process. This triggered trap sprung by Warlord who triggered a fail-safe under the captured primary Decepticon base on Omega Prime, annihilating the majority of the Seraphim-Autobot troops on the surface in a single stroke. But seeing all their resource locations captured and more Alliance forces pouring in, the Decepticons reluctantly abandoned Omega Prime.

Meanwhile during the battle in space, the Autobots cleared a path straight to the Decepticons’ space fortress by crashing an enormous asteroid into the installation, severely damaging the space fortress and blocking the main space gate with rubble. The Autobot fleet, backed by hundreds of thousands Seraphim Strike Cruisers and Assault Carriers, picked off the straggling Decepticon ships and Vehicons. Using beam-dispersal missiles, they crippled the Decepticons’ weaponry and forced the Decepticon fleets to stretch their defenses thin before destroying them piecemeal. Shortly, the Seraphims launched their mass production Mobile Suits to sortie, destroying many Decepticon ships within the various hangers, diminishing much of the Decepticons’ space forces in the entire space sector. The Decepticons fought back valiantly, but due to Gold Team’s interference and their newly created MASPs (Mass Assault Space Platforms), they are forced to transwarp jump in order to escape the overwhelming numbers of the allied forces.

With casualties mounting and reinforcements being delayed by due to the crippled Decepticon forces throughout the Omega Sector, Razorclaw organised a full strategic withdrawal immediately after Starscream, Onslaught and Warlord sent their emergency transmissions. The Omega System was eventually retaken after several more Mega-Units of hard fighting, but it was a pyrrhic victory for the Seraphim-Autobot Forces.

[1.1 Million Years before EOE] – The Battle of Sera Minor’s Moons. The Decepticon Army somehow managed to place a tracking beacon on one of the Seraphim Cruisers, and the Protocyon system was disclosed to the Decepticons by Eclipsar, who informed Megatron of the location. The Decepticon Army consolidated their forces and launched a full scale invasion of the aforementioned system. Sweeping aside the allied space forces with overwhelming firepower, Megatron’s forces broke through the Secondary Defense Line and initiated the battles of Sera Minor’s moons, which wave after wave Decepticon forces deployed to capture the Unobtainium resources there. Despite the serious resistance by both Seraphim and Autobot forces, the Decepticons established a staging area and began to make preparations for the eventual battle of Sera Prime. Megatron’s personal cruiser, The Nemesis arrived shortly after, followed by Trypticon and Gigatron, and further bolstered by several more Decepticon fleets which arrived in system soon after.

The Seraphims and Autobots responded by regrouping near Sera Prime, and formed the Final Line of Defense. Splitting into Four main fleets and several smaller ones, the Alliance reinforced the remainder of the Protocyon System in preparation for the Final Battle.

[1.0 Million Years before EOE] – The Battle of Sera Prime.

[Information Classified - Omega Level Access required]

[Somewhere between 1.0 – 0.5 Million Years before EOE] – Operation Outer New Haven was initiated. Seraphims Commando Agents were tasked to search for the Allspark on many alein worlds before the Decepticons.

Personal Comments on this Transformers Timeline:

This is the third part to :icontaiya001: 's TFAV (Transformers AlterVerse) Continuity Transformers Series. As seen from the image used above, the Timeline is to provide background details on how the Great War has engulfed the Seraphim Empire and how its heroes fought a long and bitter war with the cybertronians which culminated into The Battle of Sera Prime (which I will finish up later) and finally the events of Operation Outer New Haven which would have severe repercussions on the little blue planet known as Earth in Taiya's Transformers Fanfic.

The reason I wrote this Timeline is to flesh out the backstory of the TFAV Universe, as well as to explore the major battles that took place before the Transformers arrived at Earth, and started the fateful chain of events that changed everything. As the Great War between the Autobots and Decepticons raged across the stars, many species of aliens were caught in the crossfire. The Seraphims were just one of the few which could fight back, and they made the Decepticons pay for every inch of ground they took from the Seraphim Empire.

Due to the fact that this Timeline is completely written by me, I am not sure whether :icontaiya001: and :iconsketchfan: will accept this as canon for the TFAV Continuity. One can hope however, as I have carefully added some of the details I have talked with :icontaiya001: and :iconsketchfan: over the story of her characters among the Decepticons before everything began. This piece of writing is the product of countless referencing, as well as reading to stay true to Transformers lore and TFAV storyline details.

I am still trying to find time to type it out as a full story, but that would have to wait for another time. I promise to get to it as soon as I can. In the meantime, I hope you have fun with the picking out of Transformers References and the various loads of characters inside. Please Enjoy. I have fun with this myself. XD XD

Constuctive comments and ideas appreciated. More to come on them if I have time to write and type them out in future...please do tell me if there is anything missing or unfinished, because I would not like to offend anyone and invite flamers. Thank you for the support and help in advance.

My heartfelt thanks to :iconechowing: for his invaulable assistance in giving me advice on this Timeline.

Very cool my brother. So so cool. I will have to reread it again as there are so many details I want to soak up. I love how it is easy to follow and that it is written as little blurbs in a bigger frame of reference.

You did a good job as usual writing it out like it is a military record. No doubt being in the Singaporean Military helped a bit with it. You have a real talent for writing.
