Celebrate deviantART's 14th Birthday!

Fourteen years of existence marks a period of growth, change, and introspection — an era of creativity and emotion that leads to long-term personal and artistic development. As we celebrate deviantART's 14th birthday, we want to thank all of you for joining in on the journey of growth and development, from the deviants who have been here from the start to the deviants who are starting out their deviantART experience today.

How has deviantART helped you grow as an individual and/or as an artist? Tell us your story through an art feature Journal!

It has been 7 years since I have joined this site, and I joined mainly to put on my own writings and discuss things with deviants who shared the same interests as me. There have been both ups and downs since I have joined this site, and I have my fair share of meeting awesome people as well as being "harshly criticised" for some misunderstandings. But thankfully, my good experiences led to me meeting my DA Family members and many artists who I have formed friendships with, and I am grateful for that. I hope to one day post up my own "new and improved" writings for everyone to enjoy, as well as collaborate more with other deviants in their writings and drawings. However, due to my life matters and personal problems, I have very little time to spend on Deviantart as of late, and I hope to one day be much more active on Deviantart again.

Dragons have been an integral part of my younger days's dreams and reading companions. Seeing beautifully detailed artwork of these mystical creatures and their heroic riders, as well as stories chronicling their battles, interactions and sacrifices had rekindled the flames of this Dragon fan for a much longer time than I have ever thought possible.

Heroes of the Storm by Mr--Jack
I love details, and in such pictures which mix fantasy and science fiction, I adore them so much! I simply love the character details as well as the wide range of diverse characters about to duke it out in the threatre of war. Nothing says "Hell, it's about time!" than Starcraft II's introduction cutscene with Tychus Findlay.

Eternal Crusade Concept Art: Massive Battle by ukitakumuki
Having been a fan of Warhammer 40K since I read my first book on the iconic Space Marines, I have to say that many deviants here on Deviantart had astonishing skills that capture the grimdark and forever war in the Warhammer 40K universe. These pieces of dramatic and awesome battles, such as the example above, depicts determination and resolve to face overwhelming odds to fight for one's own faction, and given the diverse amount of species and characters within that world, there's bound to have someone (or something) that interests you. Who do I like? You may ask...well, I love the Space Marines, and even more so the Imperial Fists and their Successor Chapters.

Cannon Bot by NCH85
I have been a fan of science fiction ever since I had knew the term, and Ialso love animations that have machinery in them. Seeing this Cannon-bot coming to life with a click of my mouse, I wished this picture was actually part of a game in which I can play whenever my fanboy wants to come out again. Just look at the details and transformation sequences, sheeesh!

Transformers has been an indispensable part of my childhood, seeing how Optimus Prime's character shaped my younger days and seeing their heroic battles against the Decepticons always made me jump with joy even now. As the years passed and many new generations of Transformers were introduced and discarded, I always stayed true to the original Generation One, as it was definitely something that I would cherish and pass on to the next generation, to let them enjoy the same happiness in which I had given it ever since the day the Autobots appeared on the television screen of a primary school child before he goes to school in the afternoon.

Shiny, Happy, Candy-colored Heroes by harwicks-art
Before anyone screams "Brony" I would just put it out for everyone I know. Yes, I am a Brony...and I am proud to be one. Sure, it may be a show for little girls, but I am more interested in the fantasy elements as well as the various countries around Equestria, and the history of how Equestria was formed and even its inhabitants. A world in which fantasy elements mix with excellent friendship and family lessons, why not watch it and enjoy the beautiful graphics and detailed scenery? And do I have to admit the RIDICULOUSLY AWESOME battles that come along on each of the season finale? Sign me up for Season 5, folks!

So that's my 2 cents everyone, what are your thoughts and opinions? Please tell me what you think, and enjoy the artwork I have attached to this small journal. Thank you for your time.
